Variations of Rubber Ducks
When the yellow rubber duck with a squeaker became increasingly popular throughout the world in the 1970's toy manufactures began to offer a variety of types, sizes, shapes and colors of rubber ducks on the world market.
How many variations of rubber ducks is available on the world market today clearly indicates the world's largest rubber duck collection which is held by Charlotte Lee and currently numbers over 2,600 rubber ducks. You can get a rubber duck in about any size you can imagine, while the giant rubber duck created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman with dimensions of 26 x 20 x 32 meters would not even fit in your swimming pool. Besides the great variety of sizes you can also purchase a rubber duck in any color or color combination you can imagine.
However, in compare with sizes and colors there is probably even greater choice of shapes and themes of rubber ducks: rubber ducks with sunglasses, hats, scarfs and variety of other cloth parts, devil ducks with horns, bride and groom ducks, dead ducks which float upside down, ducks dressed for Christmas, ducks that gloom in the night, etc.
The variations of rubber ducks are really enormous and there is definitely to be found a rubber duck that puts a smile on everyone's face. However, the majority of people probably still prefer the good old yellow rubber duck which makes a happy quaking sound when it is squeezed and brings back the memories from the childhood.
